Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC) in association with the Dubai Health Authority and the Blood Donation Centre in Al Wasl Hospital organised a blood donation camp on the 5th August 2009, at the Indian Consulate.

As many as 112 persons volunteered to donate blood. The Consul General of India Venu Rajamony and ICWC Convenor Mr. K Kumar were the first few donors.

The hospital is in need of blood continuously for transfusions for children suffering from Thalassemia. In addition blood is also required for patients undergoing surgery for various illnesses and accident victims.

The Dubai Tamil Sangam and members and patron of ICWC provided light refreshment to donors at the camp.
